DanceATL Internship Openings

DanceATL is looking for interns to contribute to DanceATL’s focus to provide resources, promotion, and collaborative opportunities to the Atlanta dance community. Read below for internship openings:

DanceATL Arts Administration Internship

The Arts Administration Intern will receive valuable hands-on experience in working in a non-profit while supporting the mission of DanceATL.

10 hours/ week, 75% remote
Must have access to a computer and a Google account
Reports to: Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Create editorial calendar
  • Maintain website and social media presence
  • Shadow the Operations Manager in meetings with the Board of Directors and committees
  • Assist coordinating events for community programming
  • Maintain volunteer listing
  • Maintains communication with supervisor while working remotely

Please note this list is not all-encompassing and additional tasks may be delegated in a reasonable capacity.

Qualifications: 

  • Enrolled in an accredited university to receive academic credit
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Interest in dance and arts administration
  • Knowledge of Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Hangouts, WordPress 
  • Student-mentality, high level of initiative to meet and exceed deadlines
  • Ability to work individually and on a team
  • Positive attitude

Areas of study include Arts Administration, Dance, Marketing, Advertising, Management

DanceATL Archival Internship

The Archival Intern will receive valuable hands-on experience in working in a non-profit while gathering and organizing the history of Atlanta dance.

10 hours/ week, 75% remote

Reports to: Operations Manager

Must have access to a computer

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the instruction of the Operations Manager and Archive Committee to gather crucial information on Atlanta’s dance history
  • Organize a Drop Box for community members to share their company and personal history
  • Interview and archive those with first-hand history of early Atlanta dance
  • Document accomplishments of companies and artists
  • Record what is happening now
  • Maintain a working timeline from early 1900s to present day
  • Create visual infographics of Atlanta dance
  • Present an engaging review of what has been accumulated at the end of the internship term

Please note this list is not all-encompassing and additional tasks may be delegated in a reasonable capacity.

Qualifications: 

  • Enrolled in an accredited university to receive academic credit
  • Photography skills a plus but not required
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Student-mentality, high level of initiative to meet and exceed deadlines
  • Ability to work individually and on a team
  • Positive attitude

Areas of study include Dance, History, Archival Science, Library Science
