Event Details

A collaborative call and response that explores underappreciated and unexpected connections between movement choirs and audio dialogues of American jazz, world music and funk. Working in the installation spaces of Lauri Stallings’ current Hudgens Prize exhibition, rather than some things appearing to rise up soft to your chest and a whole lotta mercy, cellist Okorie Johnson and glo moving artists will mix and answer back with physical and sonic gesture that defies categorization, through a strict adherence to improvisation, which the artists believe to be the most important root in American movement and musical tradition. glo Moving Artists are PhaeMonae Brooks, Christina Hiroko Kelly, Cailan Orn, and Mary Jane Pennington. ‘whole lotta mercy runs through Saturday, October 20.

This event is free and open to the public. Free parking.
