Call for Submissions: Spectra – A catalyst for choreographers
We are thrilled to announce a new program for early, emerging, and independent choreographers: Spectra.
Spectra aims to create financially accessible opportunities for metro Atlanta-based artists to create and present work in professional production settings. There are no application, production, or participation fees. Selected choreographers will be paid an honorarium for their work, as well as receive professional photos and video.
We are currently accepting applications for works to be presented in performances on October 14-15, 2023. Applications are due by Tuesday, August 29th at 11:59 pm.
Artists should be based in the metro Atlanta area
Choreographers may submit up to two works for consideration
Solo/duet submissions should be under 10 min. Group pieces should be under 20 min.
Submissions should be accompanied by a video of the work, rehearsal footage, or work samples that reflect your choreographic style. Strong preference for video representing the work to be presented
All styles/disciplines are invited to apply
Venue: Emory Performing Arts Studio theater
Professional lighting and sound
Wings and cross over
Selection and notification process:
Submissions will be reviewed by an independent panel of experienced dance professionals and arts curators
Selected choreographers will be notified by the first week of September
