Event Details
Sabar–Salsa–Samba is an
experimental work that explores traditional and cultural artforms from Senegal,
Cuba, and Brazil, as evolving products of African history, forced relocation,
and societal changes. Through workshops, visual art, and performance, the project
depicts cultural art forms as they evolve and fuse global, individual,
and popular trends, and the changes that sometimes challenge traditions. Curated
and directed by Assane Kouyaté IG|FB @kouyatejeli. This program is supported by The Nexus Fund, TADA
Foundation, the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and South
Arts.
