A shift from West African Manding traditions will uncover comparable lineages and traditions of the Wolof and Serer ethnic groups, specifically the rich, folkloric sabar dance and drumming techniques exclusive to Senegal. October 8 – 10 will feature four (4) specialized sabar dance workshops one (1) drum intensive, held at TADA – The Atlanta Dance Academy – 2335 Cheshire Bridge Rd., NE Atlanta, GA 30324.

On Friday Oct-8 at 6:30 PM, a 2-hr mixed-level sabar dance workshop and exhibition will kick-off the weekend’s activities. This event is presented by the TADA Foundation, under the artistic direction of Assane Kouyaté. Its goal is to provide vibrant cultural and educational experiences to diverse community members.
