Core Dance, celebrating 40 years of contemporary, and interdisciplinary, new, and original dance, approaches their newest work recognizing the uniqueness of the times we are living within and the importance of the action of creating. The work, No Time to Lose, is built upon artists’ impulse to make and to inspire making – a process that has been a particular struggle during the pandemic.
No Time to Lose brings together 12 artists from around the country from various art disciplines to join in the creation of new work – quickly, intuitively, and without compromise. The work is a call to creative action. The energy will be raw, as tension is kept high and the artists stay alert and attentive. The time limit forces immediacy. The work is associative, swift, and consistent.
Coming together to develop and create an artistic experience in just two weeks, the outcome will culminate in a shared experience with the public for two nights only on March 26th and 27th at The B Complex. What the audience will experience could be anything — a performance piece, a concert, a film, an installation or all of these at the same time. Audience capacity will be limited, with multiple showing rotations to maintain social distancing.
Participating artists include: Walter Apps, Stephen Earnhart, Shawny Evans / Humlao, Iman Siferllah-Griffin, Keith Hennessy, Adam Larsen, Christian Meyer, Kristin Moe, Marcus Montgomery, Sue Schroeder, Benji Stevenson, and Elizabeth Labbe-Webb.
Performances are Friday, March 26 at 8 pm and on Saturday, March 26 at 4 pm and 8 pm. Tickets are limited for social distancing purposes and are $7.50 each.
