Danced with unbridled power, The Leopard Tale eloquently fuses classical ballet and African dance into a high energy, action filled, and powerful performance.   Originally, a one-act production created by the Company’s co-founder and co-artistic director Waverly T. Lucas, II, Act I details the Leopard’s challenges with his most fearful predator, man. In Act I, Ballethnic’s dance diversity and artistic range is depicted as gazelles engage in a balletic romp; zebras in a jazzy combination; cagey lions on a stomping prowl; and “spasmodic” snakes all to original music by L. Gerard Reid, Ballethnic’s music director.
