La Culture Mandingue (LCM) is a traditional arts project that aims to increase the awareness of West African culture. This is a Master Class, led by Assane Kouyaté, that will celebrate the traditions of the Manding (Mandinka, Malinké) people – one of the largest ethnic groups in West Africa. Develop an awareness of how live drum rhythms and song traditions work hand in hand with dance as a means of expression and communication of daily life in West Africa. Funding for this program is provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
