We are inviting you to Piedmont Park on May 15th, 6pm, at the Oak Hill – field adjacent to Piedmont Ave NE and 12th Street entrance gates. Bring blankets or chairs, snacks and drinks, and enjoy a wonderful Saturday evening in the park while watching a one-of-a-kind site-specific performance of Hollow Bones. The event is free to attend.
By means of butoh, dance theater, outstanding costume and set design elements, this work explores how life-changing leaps of faith require personal loss in the hope of a better life. Hollow Bones explores awakening to a strange world where the performer is the alien, encountering pivotal moments where they have to choose to embrace change and let go of the familiar parts of themselves and their prior life.
Hollow Bones is a collaboration between butoh performer Frankie Mulinix (Vandellous), dance designer Nadya Zeitlin, visual artists Dima Alekseev and Katya Kouznetsova. First version of this work premiered early April at the Dance Hub ATL.
Please call (404) 729-8458 if you need help finding us.
This work was created while in residency with Hambidge Cross-Pollination Art Lab.
