Become a part of a production for future generations! On March 29th, Creative Producer Likisha Griffin partners with Artistic Director of T. Lang Dance and founder of The Movement Lab for the launch of Walk Her Shoes, an Afrofuturism Community Engagement Series.
We want to hear narratives from diverse women of all generations ready to unpack parts of their life journey. We will celebrate themes representing self-care, overcoming plight, nurturing communal bonds, beauty, activism, and re-imagining a future that can be empowered by our collective walk as people of the earth.
This incubator, held in historic West End of Atlanta, honors ancestral bonds. We are calling for stories from women of color and their allies, which will be the vision for an Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality (AR/VR) experience. The social experiment is powered by Deigratia A. Daniels, Project Manager of Futurus.
Move us.
1. Share Your Story – Email Likisha at likisha@LGriffinCreative.com for production scheduling. You will be featured in a live storytelling event on March 29th.
2. Donate Shoes – Your contribution will be represented in an iconic installation that will live in digital space. Write a short description, poem, song or affirmation about your walk in those shoes. Atlanta based participants, please donate shoes to the Movement Lab by March 16th, located at 1384 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.
3. Spread the Word- Help us build an anthropology of the feminine journey. This call for stories captures original narratives of women in the 21st century for a digital exploration that will serve as a guide for future generations.
