This event celebrates the beginning of Catching Mangoes Dance and introduces a new work-in-progress.
The evening will include:
- A preview of I’m sorry for your loss
- Interactive party games
- Reflection and conversation with the artists
I’m sorry for your loss (working title) is a multi-dimensional contemporary dance work that examines grief and how it shows up in the body, reflects on care for self and others, and explores various cultural views of life and death.
Content advisory: This performance will include expressions and conversations of grief, loss, and death.
Audience members are invited (not required) to bring a photo of an ancestor/loved one or bring an offering to an ancestral altar in the space. Registration is required. This intimate event has very limited seating. Please register on Eventbrite to secure your seat and contact us if your plans change.
Offerings to the ancestral altar will be returned to the audience at the conclusion of the event. A photographer/videographer will be present. By attending, you are consenting to possibly be included in documentation that may be used for future marketing purposes.

Jacquelyn (Jacque) Pritz, dance artist and arts administrator, is excited to announce the launch of Catching Mangoes Dance. The company’s first work is titled I’m sorry for your loss which began its creation through the Atlanta Rising Artists’ Residency by Rise City Dance and will premiere in the Beacon Dance repertory show in April 2024.
